Read these instructions completely, they contain safety information.
Keep them for future reference.
Warning
Your shaving system is provided with a special cord set,
which has an integrated Safety Extra Low Voltage power
supply. Do not exchange or tamper with any part of it,
otherwise there is risk of an electric shock.
Only use the special cord set provided with your appliance.
Do not shave with a damaged foil or cord.
This appliance is suitable for cleaning under running
water and use in a bathtub or shower. For safety
reasons it can only be operated cordlessly.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless
they are older than 8 years and supervised.
To prevent the cleaning fluid from leaking, ensure that the
Clean&Renew station is placed on a flat surface. When a
cleaning cartridge is installed, do not tip, move suddenly or
transport the station in any way as cleaning fluid might spill
out of the cartridge. Do not place the station inside a mirror
cabinet, nor over a radiator, nor place it on a polished or
lacquered surface.
The cleaning cartridge contains a highly flammable liquid so
keep it away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke near the
station. Do not expose to direct sunlight for long periods of
time.
Do not refill the cartridge and use only original Braun refill
cartridges.
Before shaving
Prior to first use you must connect the shaver to
an electrical outlet using the special cord set p
or alternatively proceed as below:
Installing the Clean&Renew station
• Using the special cord set p, connect the
station power socket 6 to an electrical outlet.
• Press the lift button 2 to open the housing.
• Hold the cleaning cartridge 7 down on a flat,
stable surface (e.g. table).
• Carefully remove the lid from the cartridge.
• Slide the cartridge into the base of the station
as far as it will go.
• Slowly close the housing by pushing it down
until it locks.
Charging and cleaning the shaver
Insert the shaver head down into the cleaning
station. The contacts u on the back of the
shaver will align with the contacts 3 in the
cleaning station. Important: The shaver
needs to be dry and free from any foam or
soap residue!
If required, the Clean&Renew station will
automatically charge the shaver. The hygiene
status of the shaver will also be analyzed and
one of the following cleaning program indicators
5 will light up:
shaver is clean
short economical cleaning required
normal level of cleaning required
high intensive cleaning required
If the station selects one of the required
cleaning programs, it will not start unless you
press the start button 4. For best shaving
results, we recommend cleaning after each
shave.
Whilst cleaning is in progress, the respective
cleaning program indicator will blink. Each
cleaning program consists of several cycles,
where cleaning fluid is flushed through the
shaver head and a heat drying process dries
the shaver. Depending on the program selected
the total cleaning time will range from 32 to
43 minutes.
The cleaning programs should not be interrupted.
Please note that whilst the shaver is
drying, the shaver head may be hot and wet.
When the program is finished, the blue
indicator will light up. Your shaver is now clean
and ready for use.
Fast cleaning
Push the fast clean button D to activate the fast
clean program without drying. This program
takes about 25 seconds only and is recommended
when you do not have time to wait for one of the
automatic cleaning programs. If you remove the
shaver just after the program has finished, wipe
off the shaver head with a tissue to avoid
dripping.
Stand-by mode
10 minutes after completing the charging or
cleaning session, the Clean&Renew station
switches to the stand-by mode: The indicators
of the Clean&Renew station turn off.
6
Shaver display
The shaver display z shows the charge status
of the battery on the left, and the hygiene status
on the right. 6 dark segments are shown on each
side when the battery is fully charged and the
shaver is hygienically clean.
Battery segments:
During charging or when using the shaver,
the respective battery segments will blink.
When fully charged all 6 segments are shown.
With decreasing charge the segments gradually
disappear.
Low charge indicator
The low charge indicator provided with a red
frame blinks to indicate that the battery is
running low. The remaining battery capacity is
sufficient for 2 to 3 shaves.
Hygiene segments:
All 6 hygiene segments will appear after the
shaver has been cleaned in the Clean&Renew
station. When the shaver is being used, the
hygiene segments will gradually disappear.
Once the shaver is returned to the station, the
system will automatically select the appropriate
cleaning program and restore the segments to
maximum hygiene. Given that rinsing the shaver
under tap water is not as hygienic as the cleaning
station, the hygiene segments will only restore
themselves when the shaver has been cleaned
in the Clean&Renew station.
Charging information
• A full charge will take about 1 hour and provides
up to 50 minutes of cordless shaving time.
This may vary according to your beard growth
and environmental temperature. 5-minute
quick charge is sufficient for a shave.
• Recommended ambient temperature for
charging is 5 °C to 35 °C. The battery may not
charge properly or at all under extreme low or
high temperatures. Recommended ambient
temperature for shaving is 15 °C to 35 °C. Do
not expose the shaver to temperatures higher
than 50 °C for extended periods of time.
Using the shaver
Personalizing your shaver
By holding down the accelerator button –/+
(e or r you can adjust the shaving power to
your individual needs in the different areas of
your face from sensitive to intensive. The pilot
light in the on/off switch w changes within the
following range:
tr
trimmer
(–) sensitive shave
- light blue
- dark blue
- green
(+) intensive shave
For a thorough and fast shave we recommend
the green (intensive) setting.
When switching on next time, the last used
setting will be activated.
How to use
Press the on/off switch w to operate the shaver:
• The pivoting shaver head and floating foils
automatically adjust to every contour of your
face.
• To shave hard to reach areas (e.g. under the
nose) slide the shaver head lock switch 0 to
the back position to lock the pivoting head at
an angle.
• To trim sideburns, moustache or beard, slide
the pop-out long hair trimmer q upwards.
Tips for the perfect dry shave
For best shaving results, Braun recommends
you follow 3 simple steps:
1. Always shave before washing your face.
2. At all times, hold the shaver at right angles
(90°) to your skin.
3. Stretch your skin and shave against the
direction of your beard growth.
Automatic cleaning
After each shave, return the shaver to the
Clean&Renew station and proceed as described
above in the section «Before shaving».
All charging and cleaning needs are then
automatically taken care of. With daily use,
a cleaning cartridge should be sufficient for
about 30 cleaning cycles.
The hygienic cleaning cartridge contains
ethanol or isopropanol (specification see
cartridge), which once opened will naturally
evaporate slowly. Each cartridge, if not used
daily, should be replaced after approximately
8 weeks.
The cleaning cartridge also contains lubricants,
which may leave residual marks on the outer foil
frame after cleaning. However, these marks can
be removed easily by wiping gently with a cloth
or soft tissue paper.
Manual cleaning
Rinsing the shaver head under running water is
an alternative way to keep the shaver clean,
especially when travelling:
trimmer
• Switch the shaver on (cordless) and rinse the
shaver head under hot running water until all
residues have been removed. You may use
liquid soap without abrasive substances.
Rinse off all foam and let the shaver run for a
few more seconds.
tourner encore quelques secondes.
rezultaty golenia, zalecamy czyszczenie
po każdym goleniu.
Podczas czyszczenia odpowiedni wskaźnik
programu czyszczenia będzie migał. Każdy
program czyszczący składa się z kilku cykli,
podczas których płyn czyszczący przepłukuje
głowicę golarki, po czym proces suszenia na
gorąco osusza golarkę. W zależności od wybranego
programu całkowity czas czyszczenia
wyniesie minuty.
gotowa do użycia.
set (10), connect the shell power socket (12b) to
an electrical outlet.
• Place the shaver into the charging shell. The
contacts (7) on the back of the shaver need to
align with the contacts (12d) in the charging shell.
A beep sound confirms that the shaver sits properly
in the station.
• The shaver will be automatically charged.
Charging and basic operating information
• A full charge provides the following operating
times according to your beard growth and
environmental temperatures:
– ca. 45 minutes without activated cooling
function
– ca. 15 minutes with activated cooling function;
afterwards 20 minutes operating time without
• Do not expose the appliance to temperatures
higher than 50 °C for extended periods of time.
• When the shaver is connected to an electrical
outlet, it may take some minutes until the display
illuminates.
Shaver display
Charge status
During charging the symbol in the on/off switch (5)
blinks green. When fully charged, it will light up for a
few seconds, provided the shaver is connected to an
electrical outlet.
Low charge
The symbol in the on/off switch (5) shines red when
the battery is running low. You should be able to
finish your shave. When switching off the shaver a
beep sound reminds you of the low charge status.
Cooling Status
The symbol shines blue with activated cooling
function. When the battery is running low it starts
blinking.
Cleaning Status (only models CT6cc/CT5cc/
CT4cc/CT3cc/CT2cc)
The cleaning indicator lights up, when the shaver
needs to be cleaned in the Clean&Charge station.
Travel lock
The lock symbol lights up when the shaver has
been locked to avoid unintended starting of the
motor (e.g. for storing it in a suitcase).
Using the shaver (see fig. A)
Press the on/off switch (5) to operate the shaver.
Tips for a perfect dry shave
For best results, Braun recommends you to follow
3 simple steps:
1. Always shave before washing your face.
2. At all times, hold the shaver at right angles
(90°) to your skin.
3. Stretch your skin and shave against the
direction of your beard growth.
Cooling
Note: The cooling sensation experienced may differ
from person to person. It is influenced by personal
and environmental factors (e.g. skin, environmental
temperature).
Activation: To activate the cooling function, press
the cooling switch (3) during shaving. The symbol
in the cooling switch shines blue. For best cooling
performance, we recommend to wait a few seconds
after the cooling function has been activated.
Then continue shaving as usual.
Low battery: The symbol in the cooling switch (3)
starts blinking when the battery is running low and
there is not enough energy left for the cooling function.
You should be able to finish your shave with
activated cooling function. We recommend to
charge the appliance afterwards to have the cooling
function available for the next shave.
You can deactivate the cooling function by pressing
the cooling switch again.
Long hair trimmer
To trim sideburns, moustache or beard, press the
release button (8) and slide the long hair trimmer (6)
upwards.
Travel lock
• Activation: By pressing the on/off switch (5) for
3 seconds the shaver is locked. This is confirmed
by a beep sound and the lock symbol in the
display. Afterwards the display turns off.
• Deactivation: By pressing the on/off switch for
3 seconds the shaver is unlocked again.
7
Manual cleaning of the shaver
(see fig. C/D)
The shaver is suitable for cleaning under running tap
water. Detach the shaver from the power supply
before cleaning it in water.
• Switch the shaver on and rinse the shaver head
under hot running water until all residues have
been removed. You may use liquid soap without
abrasive substances. Rinse off all foam and let the
shaver run for a few more seconds.
• Next, switch off the shaver, remove the Foil &
Cutter cassette and let it dry.
• If you regularly clean the shaver under water, then
once a week apply a drop of light machine oil on
top of the Foil & Cutter cassette.
Alternatively, you may clean the shaver using a brush:
• Switch off the shaver. Remove the Foil & Cutter
cassette (1) and tap it out on a flat surface. Using
a brush, clean the inner area of the pivoting head.
Do not clean the cassette with the brush as this
may damage it!
• Using the special cord set (10), connect the
station power socket (13) to an electrical outlet.
Charging the shaver in the Clean&Charge station
Insert the shaver head down into the Clean&Charge
station.
Important: The shaver needs to be dry and free
from any foam or soap residue!
8
The contacts (7) on the back of the shaver need to
align with the contacts (15) in the Clean&Charge
station. Push the shaver in the correct position.
A beep sound confirms that the shaver sits properly
in the station. The Clean&Charge station will
automatically charge the shaver.
Cleaning the shaver
When the cleaning indicator lights up in the shaver
display, insert the shaver into the Clean&Charge
station, upside down and with the front showing.
Start automatic cleaning
Start the cleaning process by pressing the start
button (17). If the status light (16b) does not shine
(Clean&Charge station switches to stand-by after
about 10 minutes), press the start button twice.
Otherwise cleaning will not start.
For best shaving results, we recommend
cleaning after each shave.
The cleaning program consists of several cycles,
where cleaning fluid is flushed through the shaver
head. The cleaning time takes 3 minutes. During this
time the status light of the Clean&Charge station
blinks.
Leave the shaver in the station for drying. It takes
several hours until remaining moisture evaporates
depending on the climatic conditions. Afterwards
the shaver is ready for use.
After completing the cleaning and charging session,
the indicators of the Clean&Charge station turn off.
Removing the shaver from the Clean&Charge
station (see fig. F)
Hold the Clean&Charge station with one hand and
tilt the shaver slightly to the front to release it.
Cleaning Cartridge / Replacement (see fig. G)
When the level indicator lights up permanently
red, the remaining fluid in the cartridge is sufficient
for about 3 more cycles. When the level indicator
blinks red, the cartridge needs to be replaced
(about every 3–4 weeks when used daily).
After having pressed the lift button (14) to open the
housing, wait for a few seconds before removing
the used cartridge to avoid any dripping. Before
discarding the used cartridge, make sure to close
the openings using the lid of the new cartridge,
since the used cartridge will contain contaminated
cleaning solution.
The hygienic cleaning cartridge contains ethanol or
isopropanol (dependent on country – specification
see cartridge), which once opened will naturally
evaporate slowly into the surrounding air.
Each cartridge, if not used daily, should be replaced
after approximately 8 weeks to ensure optimal
disinfection.
The cleaning cartridge also contains lubricants, for
the shaving system which may leave residual marks
on the outer foil frame and the cleaning chamber
of the Clean&Charge station after cleaning. These
marks can be removed easily by wiping gently with a
damp cloth.
solution de nettoyage infectée.
tissu humide.
Aby uruchomić golarkę, należy wcisnąć wyłącznik (5).
Wskazówki dotyczące idealnego golenia na
sucho
W celu uzyskania najlepszych rezultatów firma Braun
zaleca stosowanie się do trzech prostych zasad:
1. Gol się zawsze przed umyciem twarzy.
2. Zawsze trzymaj golarkę prostopadle (pod
kątem 90°) do skóry.
3. Naciągnij skórę i gol zarost przeciwnie do
kierunku wzrostu.
17
Chłodzenie
Uwaga: Odczuwane wrażenie chłodu może być
różne dla różnych użytkowników. Mają na nie wpływ
zarówno czynniki indywidualne, jak i środowiskowe
(np. rodzaj skóry, temperatura otoczenia).
Aktywacja: Aby aktywować funkcję chłodzenia, należy
podczas golenia wcisnąć przełącznik chłodzenia (3).
Symbol na przełączniku chłodzenia zaświeci się
na niebiesko. W celu uzyskania najlepszego efektu
chłodzenia, zalecamy po włączeniu funkcji chłodzenia
odczekać kilka sekund. Następnie należy kontynuować
golenie w zwykły sposób.
Niski stan naładowania akumulatora: Gdy stan
naładowania akumulatora będzie na tyle niski, że
zacznie brakować energii na zasilanie funkcji
chłodzenia, symbol na wyłączniku (3) zacznie
migać. Użytkownik powinien być w stanie dokończyć
golenie z nadal włączoną funkcją chłodzenia.
Zalecamy ładowanie urządzenia po użyciu, aby móc
korzystać z funkcji chłodzenia przy następnym goleniu.
Funkcję chłodzenia można wyłączyć, wciskając
przełącznik chłodzenia ponownie.
Trymer do długich włosów
W celu podstrzyżenia baków, wąsów lub brody
należy nacisnąć przycisk zwalniający (8) i przesunąć
trymer do długich włosów (6) w górę.
Blokada podróżna
• Aktywacja: Golarkę można zablokować, przytrzymując
wciśnięty wyłącznik (5) przez 3 sekundy.
Zostanie to potwierdzone sygnałem dźwiękowym
oraz pojawieniem się symbolu na wyświetlaczu.
Następnie wyświetlacz wyłączy się.
• Dezaktywacja: Golarkę można odblokować,
ponownie przytrzymując wciśnięty wyłącznik przez
3 sekundy.
Ręczne czyszczenie golarki (rys. C, D)
Golarkę można czyścić pod bieżącą wodą. Przed
przystąpieniem do czyszczenia w wodzie urządzenie
należy odłączyć od gniazda zasilania.
• Włącz golarkę i spłucz głowicę pod gorącą
bieżącą wodą do momentu usunięcia wszystkich
pozostałości. Można użyć mydła w płynie
niezawierającego substancji ściernych. Spłucz
całą pianę i pozostaw golarkę włączoną jeszcze
przez kilka sekund.
• Następnie wyłącz golarkę, zdemontuj kasetę z
folią oraz ostrzami i pozostaw ją do wyschnięcia.
• Jeśli golarka jest często czyszczona pod wodą,
raz na tydzień należy nałożyć na kasetę z folią
i ostrzami kroplę lekkiego oleju maszynowego.
Można również czyścić golarkę za pomocą szczotki:
• Wyłącz golarkę. Zdemontuj kasetę z folią oraz
ostrzami (1) i postukaj nią o płaską powierzchnię.
Za pomocą szczotki oczyść wnętrze głowicy
18
obrotowej. Nie używaj szczotki w celu czyszczenia
kasety, ponieważ może to spowodować uszkodzenie
kasety!
Instalacja stacji czyszcząco-ładującej (rys. E)
• Usuń folię ochronną z wyświetlacza stacji
czyszcząco-ładującej.
• Wciśnij przycisk zwalniający (14) z tyłu stacji
czyszcząco-ładującej, aby unieść obudowę.
• Połóż wkład czyszczący (18) na płaskiej, stabilnej
powierzchni (np. na stole).
• Ostrożnie zdejmij pokrywę z wkładu.
• Wsuń wkład do podstawy stacji od tylnej strony, aż
wskoczy on na miejsce.
• Powoli zamknij obudowę, popychając ją w dół aż
do zablokowania.
• Za pomocą specjalnego zestawu przewodów (10)
podłącz gniazdo zasilania stacji (13) do gniazda
sieci elektrycznej.
Ładowanie golarki w stacji czyszczącoładującej
Włóż golarkę do stacji czyszczącej głowicą w dół.
Ważne: Golarka musi być sucha, bez piany i
resztek mydła!
Styki (7) znajdujące się z tyłu golarki muszą zrównać
się ze stykami (15) na stacji. Ustaw golarkę w
prawidłowym położeniu. Prawidłowe umieszczenie
golarki w stacji zostanie potwierdzone sygnałem
dźwiękowym. Ładowanie rozpocznie się
automatycznie.
Czyszczenie golarki w stacji czyszczącoładującej
Gdy na wyświetlaczu golarki zaświeci się wskaźnik
czyszczenia , należy włożyć golarkę do stacji
czyszcząco-ładującej głowicą w dół, tak aby
widoczna była jej przednia część.
Uruchamianie czyszczenia automatycznego
Aby rozpocząć proces czyszczenia, należy nacisnąć
przycisk uruchamiania (17). Jeśli kontrolka stanu
(16b) nie zaświeci się (po około 10 minutach stacja
czyszcząco-ładująca przełącza się w tryb gotowości),
należy nacisnąć przycisk ponownie. W przeciwnym
razie czyszczenie nie rozpocznie się. W celu
uzyskania najlepszych rezultatów golenia
zalecamy czyszczenie po każdym goleniu.
Program czyszczenia składa się z kilku cykli, w
których głowica golarki jest przepłukiwana płynem
czyszczącym. Czyszczenie trwa 3 minuty. W jego
trakcie kontrolka stanu stacji czyszcząco-ładującej
miga.
Golarkę należy pozostawić w stacji do wyschnięcia.
(rys. F)
Przytrzymaj stację czyszcząco-ładującą jedną ręką i
lekko przechyl golarkę do przodu, aby ją odłączyć.
Wkład czyszczący i jego wymiana (rys. G)
Gdy wskaźnik poziomu zacznie stale świecić na
czerwono, oznacza to, że ilość płynu pozostała we
wkładzie wystarczy jeszcze na około 3 cykle. Gdy
wskaźnik poziomu miga na czerwono, konieczna
jest wymiana wkładu (co około 3–4 tygodnie w
przypadku codziennego używania).
Po naciśnięciu przycisku zwalniającego (14) w celu
otwarcia obudowy odczekaj kilka sekund przed
powoli odparowuje do atmosfery.
Aby zapewnić optymalną dezynfekcję, każdy wkład,
który nie jest używany codziennie, należy wymienić
po około 8 tygodniach.
Wkład czyszczący zawiera również substancje
smarujące przeznaczone do mechanizmu golarki,
które mogą pozostawiać ślady na zewnętrznym
obramowaniu folii oraz w komorze czyszczenia stacji
czyszcząco-ładującej. Można je z łatwością usunąć,
przecierając delikatnie wilgotną szmatką.
